Hi Guys. Starting a YouTube channel can be scary no? I still am scared just by the thought at times. So let's do one together :D. On this journey, join me as we start our own YouTube channel together. Who knows, we may just hit the jackpot!
In my journey, having watched a ton of videos and reading articles on how to start a channel, there is always something...missing. You ever watched a video, or read an article and wonder, what do I need to start? All these videos are edited so amazing, how can I compete with that? Umm...help? All these videos make it seem like a simple process, and really, I am sure uploading a video seems simple enough, but what is this YouTube Algorithm all about?
There are so many terms thrown in the air, YouTube Algorithm being the main one, but that will be much later in this series. As this is part one, lets learn to walk shall me?

First thing
"YouTube is not so scary is it? This guy for example is a perfect representation, he ain't got no hands!"
First thing is first, we need a Gmail address. Why a Gmail address you ask? Well my friend, Google made starting a YouTube channel a lot easier. Also, should you be looking to turn YouTube into a income stream a.k.a, a side-hustle, it makes setting up payment stream a lot easier.
Done, what's next?
Gmail, check! Awesome. Now we start the You...wait. Time to introduce you to your next best friend. Drum-roll please....its Canva! Sign up is free (though there is a premium sign up for added awesomeness), and we will be using this to make 2 (and more) very important things for every YouTube channel.
The first thing that we will need to make is make a display picture (d/p). It not only sets the tone, but assists with setting your brand image. Don't worry too much though about how the first one comes out, it's almost certain that it will change at some point.
The second deals with that long thing. Yup, it's on every YouTube channel page. Overlooked when not done right, makes an impact when it is. Yup, I'm talking about that banner. This sample should help:
